A Minister of the Puducherry Cabinet had a miraculous escape when a bus rammed into his car near Tindivanam on Tuesday. Social Welfare Minister M Kandasamy was returning to Puducherry from Chennai last night when the incident occurred. According to police, a bus proceeding to Puducherry rammed into his car in the rear at a checkpost in Kaveripakkam. In the impact, the car dashed against a government bus, proceeding to Puducherry, and was trapped between the buses. Kandasamy suffered injuries and swooned in the vehicle. Meanwhile, police took the Minister out of the damaged car. He was admitted to the Indira Gandhi Government General Hospital and Post Graduate Institute (IGGGHPGI). X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound tests have ruled out any internal injuries. According to senior doctors attending on him, Kandasamy did not suffer any major injury or fracture, except for some minor injuries and inflammatory swellings on the right side of his chest, upper abdomen and leg.
