VILLUPURAM:June 21: The Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, has approved a sum of Rs 31.50 crore for road improvement work under Central Road Fund Scheme in Tamil Nadu.
The Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu announced in Tamil nadu today that the amount will be used for widening and strengthening of 14 road stretches of state highways, major districts roads and other district roads in the State.
The roads which will be taken up under this project comprises improvements to
Strengthening Arcot Villupuram Road km 110/0-114/4 at a cost of Rs.150 lakh in Thiruvannamalai.
The Ministry had earlier sanctioned an amount or Rs 77.70 crore in March this year for carrying out Road Improvement Work in 26 Road Stretches in Tamil Nadu, said an official release issued here today.
